Blindern, the University of Oslo’s main campus, is among the few places in the capital with ample free parking. But now the university is considering payment solutions for its 1556 parking spaces for students and staff, part of a larger climate initiative UiO says will be launched in the middle of next year. Different rates will apply to different types of vehicles, and owners of fossil-free vehicles will pay less. According to rector Svein Stølen, the plan will not be implemented until the corona situation is under control.
