Among the 101 Norwegian researchers who received funding from the European Research Council (ERC), half have a background in the humanities and social sciences. Younger women have done particularly
well, the Research Council writes in a summary of Horizon 2020. Also last year, five of eight recipients of the ERC’s Consolidator Grants in Norway have been women, most of them active in the humanities and social sciences. The University of Oslo has received 47 ERC grants, while the University of Bergen has received 24.
