Oslomet has issued new travel rules: From now on, only strictly necessary flights
will be permitted – but was does ‘strictly necessary’ really mean? Rector Curt Rice
responds: ‘We have asked employees to evaluate for themselves what is strictly necessary. Publicly funded travel must be approved by the employer in advance, as is already the case. But with sustainability in mind, we’re asking everyone to think twice. As we’ve learned during the pandemic, we manage just fine with much reduced travel,’ says Rice.
